Thanks
I just wanted to thank everyone who attended the Legacy Road Weekend in Hartsville SC. What an incredible weekend of generosity and compassion from family and friends. The purpose of the weekend well exceeded our wildest expectations and so many gave sacrificial gifts to the children of Nicaragua. We dont have the final numbers; but it seems we will have generated around $20,000 for scholarships, medical and educational supplies, and a variety of desperate needs of the children. Even more wonderful was the renewed sense that people do really care about making the world a better place to live and find their being. It really touched my heart to see the overwhelming response of people who not only gave money to the cause but also want to go with us to Nicaragua. Giving one's time....is just as important as money.
Big thanks go out to the Doc, Izzie, Jamie,Beth Morphis, and Lucy and Bo Brown for an incredible evening in the Morphis backyard. Also, the pleasure of Gene Cotton, Michael Johnson, Barbara Bailey Hutchison, Shannon Tanner, and the rest of the artist and muscians for sharing their talents and passion for kids. The level of talent and performance was something to behold. A very special thanks to Libba Andrews, Kevin Jones, Jeff Francisco, Brooks Shumake, Pam and Jimmy Sanders, Tina Kauffmann, Chris Hutchison, Allison Barteet, Pete Williams, Gennie Handmaker, Binky and MaMa Maggie Mead, Walt and Teresa Peterson, Ardie Arvidson, Dave LaTour, Elaine Murray and crew, Tamara and Elaine Morris, Michelle Juback and WBTW,Billy Grantham at Carolina Printing, Carolina Bank, my West Hartsville Baptist family, the Center Theater crew, the best group of Nashville muscians, Heart of Love, my mom and dad, my sons Taylor and Bryson, and my sweet enduring wife Debra.
