Silver and Gold
There’s a picture that is sitting on the shelf within my soul
Of a beautiful lady, silver hair and heart of gold
And her smile is like the sunshine on an early summer’s morn
And her heart is like the garden where the purest rose is born
The flowers and the music are the reasons that she lives
She finds life within the simple things that only life can give
She always takes the time to smell the roses when she passes
Cause she knows she’s making memories, the only ones that last
Silver hair and heart of gold on the picture of my soul
Time is new but love is old though the story is seldom told
There will always be a place where time cannot erase
The love and laughter that we hold
Silver and Gold
Just like the ocean the time we spend it comes and goes
So when I go home I stop by to see her heart of gold
And we talk about the good old times and we always laugh awhile
Just remembering the times we danced I begin to gently smile
Then suddenly I realize that the memories that I hold
Come from a beautiful lady
Silver hair and heart of gold
