Oh to joyful, giving and kind

Freshly cut flowers, a bottle of wine

Newly found friendship, inspiring and strong

Born in the sound of a Harry James song

Talking and sharing, adjusting the map

Confusing directions provided a laugh

But our destination was clear from the start

Similar values found in the heart

The privilege to listen to stories of truth

And learn all these lessons while still in my youth

From one who is loved, revered, and held high

Whose example has touched me and taught me to fly

For you see its not money, power, or fame

That defined the influence of the Edward's name

Its the front porch, the flowers, tomatoes and wine

Its thye courage to be joyful, giving and kind

To treat every human the very same way

To live out your values with each passing day

To teach every moment....a story, a smile

To walk with dignity, grace and style.
